I have been given the responsibility of programming PLCs using standard master programs. All I was trained/taught was how to locate/open the program and how to connect to a PLC and program it so needless to say I am very new to all of this. That is not the problem, though, at the moment.
The software that was installed on my computer (running Windows 7) is DirectSOFT5 Program (220.127.116.11) but another colleague had a different version, DirectSOFT32 (so the icon says) version 4.0 build 16 (18.104.22.168) running on a Windows XP computer.
Looking around the internet I think this the older version (obviously) that would run only on computers with Windows XP or lower. Can someone confirm this please, or give me any better info that might shed light on what's what?
LASTLY, there as was program I tried opening (with the DS32 software) but it failed - errors: File open/access error, Filter Error: Reading PLC Type, Unable to open program.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
