Controls Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:
Design of Electrical Hardware
Design of Software Concepts and Structures
Software code for station/module/ production lines
Support of wiring of mechatronic components
Support wiring of fluid components
Performing I/O checks on installed equipment
Lead on Setup and Commissioning process
Lead support in acceptance runs
Lead in production support on machines and production lines at customer site
Give Training to Operators and Maintenance personnel
Editing of technical documents with approval of the document owner and version control:
Wiring/mechanical/fluid diagrams
Documentation and Manuals
Work instructions and SOP's
Troubleshooting errors and malfunctions
Product/Process Optimization
Support Validation and Qualification processes
Travel to customer in North America to perform:
Installation of equipment
Setup and commissioning
Retrofits / upgrades
Troubleshooting
Production support
Validation support
Occasionally travel to company headquarters in Germany for:
Support during assembly of production lines
Setup and Commissioning
Training
Job Requirements:
5 to 7 Years of experience as a Controls Engineer in the automation industry
Experience with the assembly, installation, start-up of custom designed automation systems
Experience with test and automation systems is required
Must be familiar with the installation and trouble shooting of both mechanical and controls systems on automated equipment
The ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings in both European and North American formats is required
Familiarity with PLC’s and HMI's/SCADA is required and experience in the medical / clean room industry as well as in Validation will be a plus
A minimum of a Bachelors' degree in Industrial Systems Technology or Mechatronic Engineering, Controls or Electrical Engineering
