Hi,
I try to see the history of connections and modifications in my ControlLogix. Is it possible with Allen Bradley ?
Thank you

Unfortunately, when they went from RSLogix 500 to 5000, they left out a lot of great features. One of them they did not place in the RSLogix 5000 was the Revision History tool accessible from the pulldown menu and when saving a program. So like all the other great 500 features left out of the 5000, everyone is coming up with ad-hoc solutions to the shortcomings.
They have added back a few features to 5000 over the years, so like everything RSLogix 5000, it also depends on what version you have. For example versions after 17 (with the right controller anyway) they added a log that tracks on-line changes only. It is not as valuable as a revision note written by a person changing the program would be, but definitely better than nothing should you suspect someone changed, but are not sure. It just won't tell you who, what, why, like a revision not should. And it won't log if someone makes changes offline and then downloads to the controller. If you needed to know, did someone change the program on the third shift, you would only be able to answer if they did an on-line live change. It won't be easy like it was with RSLogix 500.
People do other ad-hoc fixes too so they can manually enter revision notes somewhere that will be saved with the program, like using rung 0 comments, setting up a string file to manually enter revision notes there, line comments in a structured text file, etc. etc.

Thank you for all these explanations. On the Rslogix5000, I don't know exactly where to look.
As well, do you have any idea if it is possible with the studio 5000 ?

Yes, you can use all the ad-hoc solutions I previously mentioned in Studio 5000 as well as RSLogix 5000. The "Studio" in the product title just means RSLogix 5000 is inside an operating environment called "Studio". ( Similar to Microsoft's marketing strategy of "MS Office Suite". IE: MS word is the same whether you buy it as a stand alone software or you get a copy in MS office. The "Suite" part just means an operating environment/user-interface that contain the actual software you want to use.) The RSLogix 5000 is basically the same whether it is the stand-alone software RSLogix 5000, or it is "Studio 5000". You may also want to take the course PAC RSLogix 5000 Course.
